Bicycle Safety Rodeo and Safe Kids Day-Free Helmet and Bike Inspection
St. Lawrence Rehabilitation Center hosted its annual Bicycle Safety Rodeo and Safe Kids Day on Saturday, May 12, 2018. Close to three hundred children and their families attended the event and were fitted for and received free bike helmets, Personal Flotation Devices and had their bikes inspected. They also rode a safety course, instructed by the Lawrence Township Police Department and the Mercer County Sheriff’s Department. We were very pleased that many organizations also participated to help teach the children about safety and injury prevention: Boys and Girls Club of Mercer County, Brain Injury Alliance of New Jersey, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Capital Health Trauma Center, Economy Bike Shop, ETS, Greater Mercer Public Health Partnership, Greater Mercer TMA, Hopewell Township Health Department, Lawrence Township Health Department, Lawrence Fire Department, Making Waves Swim School, McCaffrey’s Supermarkets, Mercer Council on Alcoholism and Drug Addiction, Mercer County Division of Public Health, Morris Hall Senior Care Communities, PNC Bank, Rutgers Mercer County 4-H, RWJ Hospital at Hamilton, Sports Concussion Center of New Jersey, St. Francis Medical Center and the Trenton Thunder. We thank everyone for helping to keep our children safe!
