Nursing
St. Lawrence Rehabilitation Center is staffed around the clock with Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants. Many of our Registered Nurses are Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurses (CRRN), and all are encouraged and supported in the achievement of this advanced certification. An Administrative Nursing Supervisor is part of our Rapid Response initiative, and is always available to assist you with any needs or concerns that you or your family may have.
The philosophy of Nursing Service Department at the Center is based upon the Nursing Code of Ethics, which encompasses the protection, promotion and restoration of health; the prevention of illness and the alleviation of suffering in the care of patients, residents, families, caregivers and the community. The Philosophy of Nursing at Saint Lawrence supports the ethical and religious directions of Catholic Healthcare Institutions.
Our mission is to maximize the quality of human life by providing comprehensive acute and sub-acute physical rehabilitation and restorative nursing, and palliative care programs to meet the healthcare needs of the adult and geriatric community.
The practice of rehabilitation nursing and long-term care nursing requires specialized knowledge and clinical skills that reflect the profound impact of disability and aging upon individuals and their significant others. This knowledge and skill includes recognition of the magnitude of disruption to physical, emotional, economic and/or vocational status.
